Clomid
Generic Clomid: To become a mother is every woman’s dream- but there are certain females who are deprived of this experience. Not being able to become pregnant brings with it a stigma and adversely affects not just the sexual health of the female but also ruins her social life.
There may be many reasons of why a female is not able to conceive. One of them is ovulatory failure: a lack of ovulation in the female body. Ovulation is the process of releasing ovum and is preceded by a chain of events during the menstrual cycle. It is a vital process for regular menstruation and pregnancy. Ovulation involves several hormones and is a continuous process.
How it functions: Generic Clomid, or Clomiphene is used to treat infertility in females. It works by influencing the interaction of four vital hormones: the GnRH, FSH, LH, and Estradiol. As the end of a normal menstruation cycle approaches, levels of estrogen and progesterone decreases. This is when production of GnRH is triggered in the hypothalamus. The GnRH then triggers the pituitary gland to produce FSH and LH. These two affect ovulation. The increased level of LH one or two days before ovulation causes the eggs to be released.
If for some reason these hormones are not produced in the right amount and at the right time, ovulation ceases to occur. Generic Clomid attempts to create such a situation in the body that the body estrogen level decreases. This then triggers the subsequent actions like in a normal female body.
Dosage: Generic Clomid is a prescription drug and is taken orally as a pill. Each 50 mg tablet is to be taken for 5 days.
If one dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible or two tablets together. Missing more than one dose could lead to complications and needs medical help.
Side effects: Clomid or Clomiphene has minimal side effects that might include abdominal discomfort, fatigue, or increased urination. Some serious side effects could be an enlargement in ovary or visual disturbances.
Precautions: Women suffering from ovarian disorders or cysts should consult with doctor for suitability of treatment by Clomiphene. |
