Dollar General may open store in ButlerDate: 14 June 2010 The site of the former WellSpan Pharmacy, 3460 Biglerville Road, in Biglerville may become home to a Dollar General store. Sketch plans for the chain store offering both brand name and generic merchandise were submitted to Butler Township recently for review. WellSpan closed its Biglerville pharmacy in October after 25 years in the upper Adams County area, but municipal leaders do not expect the Dollar General to go up anytime soon as the project is just in its beginning phases and has not yet been reviewed by supervisors. Gary Winkleman, of Hutchinson Realty in Williamsport, Pa., presented rough plans to the Butler planning commission on Monday, who informed him to check with Biglerville Borough for sewer hook-up availability. The store would also reportedly require zoning waivers, which are currently being investigated, from Adams County. oIn other Butler Township news, supervisors will meet on June 21 at 3 p.m. with Biglerville Borough council members on the Snyder Development sewer planning module for the proposed Orchard Heights development. Snyder has preliminary plans approved in Butler for a 358-home development, but has not been able to get a sewer module approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Snyder has proposed building a private sewer treatment plant, while DEP has said it would rather the developer hook onto Biglerville's treatment plant to avoid having two facilities within such close range of each other. The meeting will be at Biglerville Borough offices on Musselman Avenue. Source: http://www.gettysburgtimes.com/articles/2010/06/14/news/2660739.txt
